Dinosaur Valley State Park

About the Park
Located just northwest of Glen Rose, the park covers just over 1,500 acres and offers an abundance of outdoor opportunities from hiking and biking. There park is in close proximity to the Paluxy River. Tent camping and RV spaces are also available but be sure and make your reservations well in advance to reserve your space. The park features:
  • Day-use picnic area
  • Group picnic pavilion with picnic tables, a fireplace, and no electricity
  • Interpretive center located in the headquarters
  • Outdoor amphitheater
  • Trailer dump station

Facilities include:
  • Campsites with water and electric hook-ups
  • Fire ring and/or grill
  • Picnic table
  • Restrooms with showers
Backpack Campsites
Backpack campsites are 1 to 2.5 mile hike in the North Primitive area. There are no restrooms in the area, however, water is available at the trail head.

Horseback Riding
Day use only horseback riding is allowed in the South Equestrian Area. Users must provide their own horses. No overnight equestrian facilities are available. There are 12 miles of hike and bike trails.

Pack Store
Park Store that sells dinosaur souvenirs such as caps, mugs, books, and toys. Cold drinks and snacks are also available for purchase.
